Majority of the Concrete Cap Poured for the Seawall

 

We were able to get the majority of the concrete cap poured for the seawall. The concrete mix started a bit rough but smoothed out by the end.

Wasted a Day Waiting for Materials

Lots of delays and push backs on the delivery of the materials. It did give us all day to make sure the forms were ready enough to mix and pour concrete.

 

Lost a Lot of Beach out at False Bluff

 

It had been many years since we had lost so much beach from False Bluff.  An early winter storm with a north / south current did some damage to our beach and coconut trees.

Getting materials brough in for the seawall took longer than expected.  We were finally able to get enough rock to move onto the next phase of constructing the seawall.

Now that the foundation of the seawall is almost complete I start working on the plan on how to cap it with concrete.

After a few weeks away it was good to be back in Bluefields to finish up the earthbag portion of the seawall.

I was able to get a lot of material over to the lot on my final work day this trip, but I did not have enough time to get any of the earthbag seawall up.
