Even with a new road that helps connect Bluefields to Managua, many still travel the 'water roads' that moved people and cargo for generations. This small boat has just left town and is heading to False Bluff. It's good to be on the water again

Shopping for oranges
Early morning when the boats come in is the best time to be at any of the markets. These photos are from the municipal market, the big one in the center of town. Venders are loaded with fresh picked fruit...oranges are what I'm after. You can buy them "off the shelf"...
or directly off the boats.
Either way you get to pick the specific oranges you want. Cost? They might run you ten for about a dollar.
